YMCA Summer Day Camp is for children ages 6-12. Camp is offered through the Clarion County & Oil City YMCAs.

At Summer Day Camp your child will make friends, ride horses, explore nature and create lifelong memories all under the guidance of awesome Camp Counselors who will care about them and believe in their potential.

  • Summer Day Camp is held weekly throughout the summer 8 am to 4 pm
  • Extended care is available beginning at 6 am and ending at 6 pm and is included in the Day Camp Weekly Fee
  • Bus transportation is provided

2018 Summer Day Camp Theme Weeks

Week 1 - May 29 - June 1  HUNGER GAMES

Just like the Hunger Games, campers can participate in a variety of fun games and challenges.  Can your team survive it?  The Camp Coffman campers will create a team flag, obstacle course, scavenger hunts, tug of war, tribal team competitions and immunity challenges!  Do you have what it takes to make it through the week a winner?  May the odds be forever in your favor.

FIELD TRIP: Farmer's Inn & Beartown Rocks

Week 2 - June 4 - 8 CAMP THROW DOWN

Do you have what it takes?  Counselors will challenge the campers to do and be the best they can be throughout the week. Activities will include dance wars, man hunt (hide and seek), capture the flag, character challenges, and many more!

FIELD TRIP: Port Farm & Clarion Pool

 

Week 3 - June 11 - 15  UNDER THE BIG TOP

Come and join the carnival!  This week will include "Dunk the Counselor", carnival games, prizes, popcorn, snow cones, and a talent show. 

FIELD TRIP:  Oil City YMCA Swimming, Gym & Bowling

Week 4 - June 18 - 22  BACKYARD BASH

Friends, fun, and sun! - That's what children look forward to in the summer months.  Get ready for a week filled with activities. Enjoy the great outdoors as we partake in summertime classic games like kickball, hopscotch, four square, lawn games, nature crafts, picnics, recycling projects, and s'mores.

Week 5 - June 25 - 29  MAD SCIENCE

Unleash your imagination this summer!  Welcome to the world of amazing experiments and cool activities that make you say, "Wow!"  STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) is critical for the future.  The world needs more critical thinkers, doers, and problem solvers.  Throughout the week we will make bouncy balls, design model rockets, create parachutes for eggs, and experiment with baking soda and vinegar.  

FIELD TRIP: Carnegie Science Center (Extra $15)

Week 6 - July 2 - 6  INCREDIBLE ATHLETES

Don't waste another summer playing video games and sitting around twiddling your thumbs.  During incredible athletes week, campers will be pushed to new heights as they conquer the physical challenge of friendly competition.  From relay races to potato sack races, campers will learn traits of noble sportsmanship.

FIELD TRIP: Dek Hockey & Hasson Pool

 

Week 7 - July 9 - 13  WATER, WATER EVERYWHERE

Join us for a rockin' water week.  We will have hula hoop games, water balloon pinata, duck duck splash, water gun wars, and a watermelon contest.  Wear your swimsuit and plan to get wet!

FIELD TRIP: Two Mile Run County Park

Week 8 - July 16 - 20  THE 60S

A totally outrageous week of fun.  We will have a blast tye-dying t-shirts.  Playing beach blanket bingo will be outta sight. And don't have a cow, but we will be groovin' to the tunes of the 60s.  Bring a white t-shirt to dye and prepare to have a "cool" summer.

FIELD TRIP: Titusville Skating Rink

Week 9 - July 23 - 27  SPACE STATION VACATION

3,2, 1...Blast-off as campers learn about the solar system through hands-on activities involving the planets, stars and moon. Campers will create spaceships as a craft with sticks, foil, paint, paper and beads.  The kids will launch water rockets, play dodgeball, participate in a moon rock hunt, and create an edible moon.

FIELD TRIP: Urban Air Trampoline Park in Cranberry Township

Week 10 - July 30 - August 3  FEAR FACTOR

Campers will enjoy a kid friendly version of this fun camp theme.  After dividing our campers into teams, they will compete by performing the following tasks:  eating bugs, nasty buckets, eating "dog food" and a mind field.  Will you be brave enough to be crowned our Fear Factor Champion?

Week 11 - August 6 - 10  COLOR ME CRAZY

During color me crazy week we will learn to appreciate all the colors of the world around us.  Join us as we create our own colors and try to make our own crayons, tye-dye, paint ball, rainbows, and rainbow milk.  We'll go on a mission to make this world a more colorful place.

FIELD TRIP: Morrison Park and YMCA Pool

Week 12 - August 13 - 17  BEYOND BOARD GAMES

Board Games just got a whole lot BIGGER!  This week will be filled with life-sized board games including Twister, Tic-Tac-Toe, Hungry, Hungry Hippo, Connect Four, and Yard Yahtzee.

FIELD TRIP:  Waldameer

Week 13 - August 20 - 23  MESSY OLYMPICS
Join us as we kick off Olympic games of goo, slime, slop, goop, and gunk.  Campers will compete in games designed to be messy - flour wars, gone fishing, pickle spitting contest, blind feeding, and frog hunting.  Come join the fun at the final week of Summer Day Camp. 

ACTIVITIES INCLUDE: horseback riding, field trips, guest speakers, sports, archery, fishing, canoeing, paddle boating, arts and crafts, hiking, games and adventures.

INFORMATION FOR PARENTS:

Day Camp hours are 8am to 4pm with extended care available beginning at 6am and ending at 6pm.

Extended Care is included in the Day Camp Weekly Fee.

Campers receive a healthy lunch and snack each day.

Children may attend one or more weeks.

There may be an extra charge for field trips
